Le Beaujolais Nouveau est Arrivé!
Celebrate Beaujolais Nouevau Day with Millesima this year! On Thursday, November 15 at 12:01 am, just weeks after grapes have been harvested, a new Beaujolais vintage is released – and we are in on the festivities this year! In traditional French culture, parties are held throughout the country to celebrate the first wine of the season. Join us in the store for the first taste of 2018 wines as we pour Terres Dorées Beaujolais L’Ancien 2018 from 5pm to 8pm!
Beaujolais Nouveau originated centuries ago as a drink produced by locals to celebrate the end of harvest season, but by the 1970s and 1980s it became a worldwide phenomenon. The Beaujolais Nouveau is vinified by carbonic maceration, where the grapes are whole bunch fermented, which leaves the wine light bodied and almost entirely free of tannins. Because of the lack of tannins the wines should be enjoyed young. An added bonus: Beaujolais Nouveau pairs perfectly with Thanksgiving turkey and is a great wine to kick off the holiday season!
Cheers!
