L’Esprit de Chevalier White 2009
The winter is around the corner and I have choosen this month in order to prepare you for the winter, a white wine from Bordeaux. Did you know that Bordeaux was also making white wine? The highest quality white wines from Bordeaux are from the Graves/Pessac-Leognan area which is situated south of the city of Bordeaux. White Bordeaux are typically a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon which gives to the wine some refreshing notes of tropical and orange fruit. L’Esprit de Chevalier is the second label of one of the most renowned estates in Pessac Leognan, the Domaine de Chevalier and it is made with all the same care as the first label. It offers great quality for a decent price. You can enjoy it with all your fish dishes or just on its own with a few friends!
Rodolphe Demougeot
Beaune Les Epenotes 2009
I choose a Burgundy red wine this month as I really appreciate Pinot Noir in the fall when the weather is not to cool yet. The Pinot Noir are softer on the palette and fit perfectly the fall season. Rodolphe Demougeot is definitely a talented producer who makes exceptionally pure and clean modern Burgundies and 2009 is a great vintage in Burgundy. This wine is a premier cru produce on a parcel called climat in French named “Les Epenotes”. Beaune is located in the Cote de Beaune subregion and takes its name from the famous city of Beaune, the centre of the Burgundy wine business, also well-known for the Hospices de Beaune. This wine will match all your fall mood and dishes…
