Free Tasting: Agricultura Alentejo and Vera Vinho Verde

On Saturday, October 6th, Rui Abecassis returns (briefly) from Portugal to his former stomping grounds on the Upper East Side with another chance for you to try his Agricultura Portuguese red and Vera Vinho Verde. If you haven’t yet had a chance to try these come by between 3:00 and 6:00 to find out what you’ve been missing.

Rui’s wines have quickly become some of our most popular offerings. The Vera is a delicious, year-round Vinho Verde, drier than the average and with just a hint of effervescence. A blend of Touriga Nacional, Aragonez (which goes by Tempranillo in Spain), and Trincadeira grown in the coolest and most mountainous sub-region of Portugal’s inland Alentejo area, Agricultura shows aromas and flavors of fresh, dark fruits.

And, of course, we have to offer something new to taste; we’ll also be showing the Ataide Semedo, a blend of Baga and Touriga Nacional from one of Portugal’s most respected regions which is making its first appearance on our shelves.
