Bordeaux Futures 2011 Exclusive – Interview with Château Lafite-Rothschild

Charles Chevallier, Manager Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) sits down with Millesima to describe the weather and harvest conditions for his 2011 vintage of Lafite-Rothschild. He explains a particularity of Lafite-Rothschild, that the wine will close up while developing in the bottle, before opening up again and expressing the complexities at the perfect moment of aging.

As with other Future wine tastings, when we taste Lafite 2011 we find delicacy, an aromatic opening of fruits, complexity on the nose and a very interesting style. But I think this vintage, like previous years, at the level of Lafite will inevitably close up to develop a balance, concentration and more mature expression of the wine.

Robert Parker recently gave Chateau Lafite-Rothschild 2011 a rating of 90-93.
