Burgundy Profile: Maison Louis Latour

Reminder: We are holding a free tasting of Joseph Drouhin Burgundies tonight in our NYC store from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Louis Latour is one of the most well-known wine merchants in the Cote de Beaune region of Burgundy. This family-run company owns 50 hectares (125 acres) of vineyards between Chambertin in the north and Chevalier-Montrachet in the south.

The Domaine is situated in the medieval village of Aloxe-Corton, which has been the family’s home since they began in viticulture. The Chateau at Corton Grancey was built in 1749 and the winery dates back to 1832.

Millesima recently visited Maison Louis Latour and put together this two-part video series. In part 1 (above), CEO Louis-Fabrice Latour, part of the 11th generation of family to head the business, talks about his family’s history. Co-Technical Director, Boris Champy, also provides a tour of the famous Louis Latour vathouse in Aloxe-Corton.

In part 2 (below), Technical Director Denis Fetzmann discusses the wine making process and CEO Louis-Fabrice Latour tastes the Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne white Burgundy.

Louis Latour wines are available for purchase at Millesima USA.
