Chateau Picque Caillou is located in the heart of the Pessac-Leognan appellation next to its more famous neighbors, Haut-Brion and Pape Clément. Once a preferred wine of Napoleon 1st, Picque Caillou has a reputation for high-quality and good-value wines of the area.
Owned by Paulin Calvet, Picque Caillou produces a red wine (50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon) and a white wine (60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon). In 2007, Calvet sought the help of prominent Bordeaux oenologist, Denis Dubourdieu, to improve the quality of his wines.
I think that we now make wines which, in their price category, are really of a very high quality, a good bargain and a pleasure for consumers who aren’t always looking for a label but for classically elegant wines that stand the test of time – Paulin Calvet
You can purchase Chateau Picque Caillou wine from Millesima.
