The Long Road Chardonnay 2013
Eden Road, established in 2008 by businessman Chris Coffman, located in Tumbarumba New South Wales, close to Canberra. Coffman was awarded the most prestigious wine award in Australia – The Jimmy Watson – for its first vintage of The Long Road Shiraz in 2009. Their collection of cool climate wines displays an original style that are highly-prized, and owe much to the soils the vines are planted on – formed over 400 million years ago and are some of the oldest on the planet. This versatile chardonnay is bright pale straw in the glass, with aromas of citrus blossom, peach, pink grapefruit and subtle spice. The palate is lively and fresh, with a natural high acidity that carries the generous fruit and texture well. The generous palate finishes with great length. Will pair well with pork and chicken, or rich fish dishes.
