The six winners from the United States and Europe have won a trip to Bordeaux from April 2nd to 7th, 2016! Six nights and seven days of discoveries around wine and culture of Bordeaux during the vibrant week of the “Bordeaux Primeure”. During this visit they were allowed to spend six nights in one of the famous classified growth of Bernard Magrez, Château Fombrauge in Saint-Emilion Grand Cru. For a week they tasted the barrels of the 2015 vintage in various legendary Bordeaux appellations (Pauillac, Margaux, Saint-Estèphe, Pomerol …). And it does not finish there. An exceptional evening of the award ceremony took place in the overwhelming Bordeaux cellars of Millésima prior to a private tour of the 4 classified Growths (Grand Crus Classés) of Bernard Magrez: Fombrauge, Pape Clement (Pessac-Léognan), La Tour Carnet (Haut Médoc), Clos Haut-Peyraguey (Sauternes). Courses and the application of drones for monitoring and analyzing of vineyards, an introduction to ploughs by working animals (horses), were on the program. Then the bloggers blended their personalized wine in a B-Winemaker workshop of the Magrez family! Invitation to a gourmet restaurant, one of the most magnificent of the French cuisine, for a lunch of regional specialties in the 5-star restaurant ‘La Grande Maison’ under the guidance of one of the best Michelin star chefs Joël Robuchon. A culinary lunch followed by a private tour of the Bernard Magrez Cultural Institute with rich collections of modern art. Tastings of renowned chateaux (Yquem, Malartic Lagravière, La Laguna …), and exchanges with Pierre Lurton (CEO D’Yquem), Olivier Bernard (owner of Domaine de Chevalier), Caroline Frey (owner of Château La Lagoon) as well as with other wine personalities. A visit of the medieval town of Saint-Emilion, a walk at the mouth of the Gironde, immersion of the city of Bordeaux (Unesco World Cultural Heritage), were one of the most relaxing moments that they have experienced. Overall, this stay was a truly intense experience, a 360° discovery of the heritage of the Bordeaux region.

Michelle Williams (USA)

Biography: Michelle Williams introduces herself.:”I am a wife and mother. The joys in my life are family, friends, travel, wine, food, music and learning. I am not a wine professional but I am passionate about wine and have studied wine on my own since the 90’s. I attend wine tastings, read wine articles and blogs regularly and frequently attend wine related events. I am a former personal trainer, nutrition coach, weight loss coach and cycling instructor so I have a love for healthy living. I believe good wine and good food are part of healthy living. I have a master’s degree in history. I am a writer and researcher; I enjoy finding the hidden story. I have a true passion for music (though I have no music talent at all!) In my next life I will operate my own radio station and play my own eclectic mix of music.” Her blog: Rockin Red Blog Contact her ! Michelle Williams

Madelyne Meyer (Suisse)

Biography: Madelyne Meyer introduces herself.: “I am Madelyne Meyer and I am originally from Switzerland. After studying business at a business school in Zurich, I moved to San Luis Obispo, CA to start my job as a tasting room rep at Edna Valley Vineyard & Bridlewood Estate Winery. At the same time I was also the assistant of the Central Coast wine education and events manager for Gallo. Today I live in Bordeaux, interning at a wine merchant called L.D.Vins as a marketing assistant and enjoying every sip of life. I have never been more interested in the art of wine than in this moment. In all honesty, it’s an obsession. Wine fascinates me. It originates from soils, so low in nutrients that hardly any other plant derives from it and lands on a table, usually surrouned by two or more people (or just me, myself and I). But sharing a good bottle of wine with friends is not the only thing I enjoy about wine, it’s also the incredible journey that gets that bottle on that table. Her blogEdvin Contact her! Regina Von Gootkin (USA)

Biography: Regina Von Gootkin introduces herself.: ” Wine Esquire is an attorney by day (and sometimes by night) and an avid lover of wine.  As an attorney, I focus on trademarks, real estate and commercial transactions. I’m an adjunct professor at a law school where I teach future haters lawyers how to file trademarks and talk to clients. In part, the motivation to start this blog was so that I could post lots of wine photos on Instagram without feeling like I was being judged for constantly posting wine photos. Now that I’m a wine blogger, it’s totally legit for me to do this. Win. The other motivation to start this blog was to get my creative juices flowing again and really start learning about wine.” Her blog: Wine Esquire Contact her! Regina Von Gootkin

Mike Turner (UK) © Andy Barnham

Biography: Mike Turner introduces himself:” I started blogging three years ago and I was last year’s winner of the “Wine and Technology” Europe award. Since then I have continued to grow Please Bring Me My Wine at pace, and now write for both Harpers Wine and The Buyer magazine. Outside of that I run the UK operations for 20h33, a Bordeaux wine events company.” His blogPlease Bring Me My Wine Contact him! Mike Turner

Jeremy Wilson (USA)

Biography: Jeremy Wilson introduces himself:”I first fell in love with wine in 2004 when, at a friend’s dinner party, an old magnum of Bordeaux wine was uncorked and decanted. That is what started it all! My passion for wine took me from aficionado to wine professional in 2013 when I decided to go “all in” and make a career out of wine. I am a Sommelier at a winery in the Texas Hill Country. When I are not spreading the word of wine, I enjoy road cycling, playing the piano, antiquing, and flying airplanes. I am a licensed commercial pilot. My wife, Robin, and me make the Texas Hill Country just west of Austin our home.” His blog: Texas Wine Lover Contact him! Jeremy Wilson

Tomislav Ivanovic (Serbia)

Biography: Tomislav Ivanovic introduces himself:”Born in Požega in 1978. I am arrived on to Belgrade’s cobbled streets when I started my English language studies at the Faculty of Philology (Belgrade University), and it still remains an unexplicable mistery of life how I ended up as the Head of Management Board Office in a local bank here. I set off on the life journey believing that what you learn and discover about others can teach you important things about yourself. Love of foreign languages and cultures has led me to more than 30 countries so far. There I got acquainted with wines of Italy, France, Austria, USA and other wine countries and figured out that Serbia also deserves to show its wine treasure. As the time I go by, my friends have started consulting me and asking for advice when they need to buy wine or open a bottle with friends. So, I finally decided to bring my idea about vinopedia alive and share.” His blog: Vinopedia Contact him! Tomislav Ivanovic
