Chardonnay Wild Ferment 2014
Vina Errazuriz was founded in 1870 in the Aconcagua Valley by Don Maximiano Errazuriz. Don noticed the potential to grow great wine grapes with the valley’s hot dry summers and cool pacific ocean breezes. Today the vineyard and winery are overseen by Eduardo Chadwick, who is the 5th generation of his family running Errazuriz. Under the direction of Eduardo, Errazuriz has been recognized in the past few years as being perhaps the single top producer of Chilean wines. The grapes for the Wild Ferment Chardonnay are sourced from the best lots that Errazuriz has to offer. The wine is left to ferment by only the natural yeasts that are found through the vineyard and on the grapes. This results in a more complex expression of Chardonnay showing notes of tropical fruit and minerality along with a creamy mouth feel. A truly delicious wine at a fantastic price!
Green Label 2013
I Balzini is a Tuscan farm on which is planted vineyards and olive groves. Located in the heart of Tuscany at the Barberino Val d’Elsa, near the sight of the ancient lost city of Semifonte. The main vineyard is located directly in front of the farmhouse, with a second vineyard block near by. The property also holds a small wooded area and a lake. The name Balzini comes from the Tuscan word for Terraces, like those the vineyards are planted on. The I Balzini Green Label is a blend of the traditional Tuscan grape varietals, Sangiovese and Mammolo. The wine is a dark, full bodied red with fresh berry fruit as well as savory notes on the palate. The fresh acidity and tannin structure make this a perfect food wine to pair with anything from red sauces or mushrooms, to even a hearty steak.
