We are thrilled to announce the judges who will select the finalists for the 2016 Blog Awards.
As a reminder, we’ve made some changes to this year’s Awards. The 2016 edition has two zones: the USA and Europe. The two zones have the same 3 categories, each with separate winners and prizes. There will be 4 finalists in each category in each region. All submitted articles must be in English.
The three categories
- Bordeaux Wine and Food Pairings
- Wine and Technology
- Bordeaux Wine Travel
To select the finalists, we’ve invited two prominent Bordeaux wine professionals to evaluate the applications.
Originally from Salamanca Spain, Xavier Sanchez is the International Sales and Marketing Manager of AXA Millésimes. AXA Millésimes is a Bordeaux-based company operating seven prestigious châteaux in Bordeaux and around the world: Pichon Baron (Pauillac), Pibran (Pauillac), Petit Village (Pomerol), Suduiraut (Sauternes), Quinta do Noval (Portugal), Disznókö (Hungry), and Domaine de l’Arlot (Nuits-Saint-Georges, Burgundy). This position follows a rich career in the wine industry, during which he also spent six years as the director of one of the most important négociants (wine traders), as well as the sales director and general manager of several Spanish wine bodegas for over 12 years. His passion and enthusiasm for his trade is infectious.
Nicolas de Rouyn
Nicolas de Rouyn wears many hats. He is the editor in chief of Bettane+Desseauve, a wine guide written by the top wine journalists in France. A respected wine writer, he has contributed to numerous publications and has his own wine blog, Bon Vivant. In his own words, it is a blog “dedicated to wine and the world of wine, otherwise called the mondovino. And also everything that goes with wine: good food, travel, pats on the back.” His blog has regularly made best-of lists since its creation.
Millesima USA was established in 2006 with the mission to bring to the U.S. market the unparalleled selection and dedicated service that has established its parent, Millésima S.A., as Europe’s undisputed leader in the sale of fine wine futures and grand cru wine directly to consumers.
