Clemens Busch Marienburg Spatlese and J.K. Carriere Pinot Noir
Marienburg Spatlese 2010
This is a family estate since 1986 produced by husband and wife Clemens and Rita and their son Florian. They are located in the heart of the Mosel and are making wines according to biodynamic principles, as they truly believe in ecology. For years Germany has been on the forefront of organic agriculture and Clemens Busch is obviously a good example. The wine I choose is a Riesling Spatlese which means that the grapes were harvested quite ripe and this wine will be on the sweeter side – which allows it to match perfectly with any spicy food or Asian cuisine. It can also be aged for many years.Buy Now!
Pinot Noir 2008
September is, for me, all about Pinot Noir or how to easily get back to red wine after a nice, hot summer. This Pinot Noir is a perfect expression of that, it has nice aromas of red fruits and vanilla and has a significant length on the palate. J. K. Carriere is made by Jim Prosser who decided to establish his own winery after having worked in many wineries around the world. He names the winery after his grandfathers by combining their names and chose a wasp on all his labels as he has almost been killed twice because of a severe allergy. Since its creation in 1999, the winery has received a lot of praise and is pursuing to do an elegant style of Pinot Noir! Try it, and let me know what you think.Buy Now!
