This wine is a perfect match to go with all your fish dishes. This Chardonnay has nice aromas of nectarine, honey, apple, pear and vanilla. If you prefer to serve it as an aperitif then match it with hard cheese! Calera is one of the pioneers to have planted Pinot Noir in California and they are doing a great job with their Chardonnay. All the critics are enthusiastic about their methods and the quality of the wine. This wine will be a great choice for all occasions, it is more of a Old World than Californian-minded Chardonnay, with a lighter touch that will match most palates.
Domaine de Courteillac 2009
What could be better for the back to school time than a great Bordeaux at a reasonable price ? The Domaine de Courteillac is made by Dominique Meneret a winemaker in Bordeaux since 2006. Before that, he was on the other side as he was working as a negociant for many years. The domaine is southeast from Saint-Emilion in the Entre deux Mers. The terroir there is exceptional and is similar to that of Saint-Emilion. With the help of Stephane Derenoncourt, Dominique Méneret is making elegant, round and fine wines that are appreciated by many of the wine’s critics. This wine is to match with a steak in order to reveal its fine woody notes and red fruits aromas.
