Nina Lubin from Templeton Rye will join us to pour tastes of this classic American spirit. Templeton Rye traces its roots back to the time of Prohibition; while Champagne (such as Ayala, above) is one enduring symbol of the Roaring Twenties, whiskey has long been the outlaw-drink of choice and the Rye produced by the residents of Templeton, Iowa made sure that their namesake whiskey was “the good stuff.” Over time Templeton became the favorite whiskey of Al Capone, featuring prominently in his national bootlegging) empire and becoming a mainstay of speakeasies across the country. Templeton shows a smooth and spicy complexity which proves that its prior renown was well-deserved.
