Free Tasting of Agricultura Alentejo

Join us tomorrow for a taste of Agricultura, one of our newest arrivals from Portugal presented by Rui Abecassis. Also get a preview of his “Vera” Vinho Verde, the newest vintage of which will soon be on our shelves.

A blend of Touriga Nacional, Aragonez (which goes by Tempranillo in Spain), and Trincadeira grown in the coolest and most mountainous sub-region of Portugal’s inland Alentejo area, Agricultura shows aromas and flavors of fresh, dark fruits.

From the winery:

Alentejo is a large growing region which takes up almost the entire southern third of the country. The climate here is Continental-Mediterranean, marked by low rainfall, semi-arid growing conditions and high daytime temperatures. The grapes are grown on sedimentary loam using sustainable farming methods. After a late summer harvest, vinification proceeds in stainless steel vats and the wine is bottled unfined under Stelvin [screw cap].
